Topps MLB Digital Trading Cards Coming to WAX!

A legendary history
Major League Baseball cards originated quite some time ago in the 1860s. As the years progressed, it certainly did not take long for the idea to gain traction. Fast forward to 1952 when Topps monopolized the market. With their first 7 series, baseball cards exploded in popularity. People from all over searched for their favorite cards and began forming their collections. Now, in this day and age, fans continue to crave the excitement of possessing one of these rarities. Specifically, for those who are familiar, the Mickey Mantle card recently sold for a record-breaking $5.2 million.
Finding some of these collectibles may sound easy, however, finding one in mint condition proves to be a bit more challenging. Traditionally, MLB cards are graded on a scale of 1 to 10 — with 1 being poor quality and 10 being mint condition. The higher the grade, the more the card is worth. Explore the nostalgic classics in a new and exciting way in the form of digital collectibles, known as NFTs. There are a total of 1,986 different cards that can be found in 1 of 10 dazzling rarities.

Previously on WAX, certain collections have sold out in as little as 35 seconds, and high demand is anticipated for the Topps MLB Series 1 collection. On April 20, 2021, packs will be available for purchase on the WAX platform at 1 pm EST. You can learn more about the release here.
There are 2 pack sizes:
- Standard 6 cards for $5 with 50,000 available
- Premium 45 cards for $100 with 24,090 available
When opening a pack, you have a chance at receiving 1 of 10 exciting rarities on each card, including but not limited to:

- Uncommon
- Rare
- Super rare
- Epic
- Legendary
As an added feature, all Topps MLB cards are pre-minted in the packs. This benefit allows collectors to have a chance at receiving lower mints, regardless of when the packs are opened. Open your packs at your pace; either immediately or one year from now, the odds of receiving a lower mint never diminishes. This also increases the value of unopened packs over time due to the possibility of them containing one of these lower mints. Even 10 years from now, unopened packs will continue to hold their value — and then some!
