Collected in sufficient quantity, Shards are redeemable for NFTs like Tools, Avatars, or Minions; they can also be fused to upgrade existing items.

Another means of acquiring Alien Worlds NFTs is via secondary markets like AtomicHub, a marketplace that also facilitates sales and trades. While a Mythical-tier AI Excavator tool might fetch a premium due to its powerful mining capabilities, an Abundant Standard Shovel is much more affordable.

Thanks to platforms like AtomicHub, players can tailor collections to their playstyle and preferences, whether they’re focusing on mining, gaining the upper hand in a game, or climbing a tournament leaderboard.

With land attributes influencing profitability, land-owners can choose to mine their own plots or lease them to others to generate passive income.

Tool NFTs (tool.worlds) are the equipment needed to mine Trilium. Start with a basic Standard Shovel dispensed to every player and work your way up to rarer tools like Nanominers or AI Excavators which maximize rewards through attributes like power and charge time.

Avatar NFTs (face.worlds) serve as cosmetic representations of players and depict the game’s various alien races. Although purely aesthetic, they add a layer of personalization and tie into Alien Worlds’ rich sci-fi lore.

Weapons (arms.worlds) and Minions (crew.worlds) await official in-game use-cases, though they can be deployed in other games — see below.

Level NFTs (level.worlds), which are earned by gaining experience (1 Shard mined = 1 experience level), and Mission NFTs (BNB Chain) acquired through TLM staking, also lack in-game functions but hold promise for future expansions.

Commemorative Lore NFTs, meanwhile, have been dispensed to writers participating in tokenized storytelling.

Thanks to these various categories, Alien Worlds NFTs empower players to engage with the metaverse in multiple ways — economically through Land, operationally through Tools, aesthetically through Avatars, and creatively through Lore NFTs. In short, they’re designed for active use, not to be held passively and purposelessly in a wallet.

What Can Alien Worlds NFTs Do?

As mentioned, some NFTs have utility within the mining game. But it’s in community-created games where they really come to life.

Orbatroid, meanwhile, is a real-time multiplayer event where players fight to defeat waves of enemy ships; Alien Worlds NFTs are transformed into credits for battling enemy fleets, and rarer items boost Trooper strength. In auto-battler Mercenary Battlegrounds, Minion NFTs can be employed to defend bases and repel the onslaught of monsters and mercenaries.

Other community-built games include Milky Way Miner, which integrates Minion and Weapon NFTs into a mining and exploration romp: players stake their NFTs for power-ups and compete in weekly tournaments. The game is available on both Android and iOS.

Then there’s Meta Battler, a rogue-like deck-builder which compels you to build the best possible NFT deck to defeat a succession of rivals. This one supports Tools, Weapons, Avatars, and Minions.

Happily, new games are launching all the time. The upcoming Alien Legends promises to expand the existing lore and is built around PvE and PvP combat. Players can train teams of fighters, stake Alien Worlds NFTs for in-game credits, and use landowner-built arenas to compete.
